My Personal Testimony
Knowing Jesus has changed my life....
For over half of my life, I have existed as a person who didn't know his
destiny. I felt o.k. with life, but not really sure of who I was. Seeking
material things and money, I sought happiness along the slow journey of life.
This pursuit ended up void.
Acquiring some friends who took an interest in me, I slowly became introduced to
the Christian faith. After watching their life and observing their trust in an
unseen God, I asked, pursued and sought after this lifestyle. In time, the Holy
Spirit convicted me of my need to listen and submit to Him, the Lord Jesus. One
cold winter day, I prayed for Him to enter my heart and show me his ways. It's
been the most beneficial thing I've ever done in my life.
I like to think of it as it relates to my interest in art and sculpture. The
things I produce are many times fashioned from pieces of scrap iron and steel
plate. They were pieces of metal that were once used, but then lay discarded in
a yard somewhere. Then one day someone comes along and notices their potential.
The piece is purchased and then brought back to be formed into something
beautiful.
In a similar sense, this is what the Christian life is all about. All of us were
created by God. We all have potential in his sight. There lies within us great
gifts that are undiscovered. We must first see our need for Him and make it a
personal decision to accept Him. He then purchases us back and fashions us into
a usable vessel.
It's not a complicated concept. Perhaps it's too simple and often overlooked. I
overlooked it for a large portion of my life. Now I've come to cherish that free
gift that was offered to me at the time of my choosing. My testimony is to
encourage you to ask, investigate and pursue the one who says he is "The Way",
"The Truth" and "The Life". Open your heart to Jesus and watch him reveal the
unimaginable. Seek Him.
